Behind the Scenes

Over the years I had an array of quirky and quaint studios and shared them with equally quirky fellow artists. It started with the forgotten professor’s studio at my art school, a massive double height room on the top floor which ought to have been occupied by a professor. It wasn’t. Instead four of us, all students, shared it, secretly rejoicing that this studio had somehow fallen off our art school management’s radar. Years have passed since and I have had fabulous spaces in unusual locations, each with their unique selling points.

As I am writing, the digger in my garden is preparing the ground for the foundations of my first very own studio. It is exciting to be able to be fully involved in the planning and see it being built, stone by stone.
